I started collecting records in earnest in1973 – first 7” single by David Bowie, LPs by Alice Cooper and Roxy Music. I got my first guitar at age 14 and spent my teenage years reading the NME and Melody Maker while listening to glam and then the English progressive bands, before the Sex Pistols and punk turned everything around. After moving to London in 1979 I spent most evenings watching live gigs with my Israeli girlfriend (Nogi) - all these amazing bands like Joy Division, Cabaret Voltaire, Human League, Buzzcocks, Siouxsie & The Banshees - and we decided to form our own band. The result was Shoc Corridor. After a few years in London and a couple of albums later, we moved to Tel Aviv before ending up back in Cape Town, my hometown. These days I am involved with the Lunar Mansions project with our ex-singer Paul, and still spend most of my waking hours listening to new music.
